"Munster Transportation
Get in
Münster has good links via the Deutsche Bahn main station Münster Hauptbahnhof. Düsseldorf Flughafen (Airport) is about 1 hour 20 minutes by train from Münster. Münster Osnabrück Airport is about 30 minutes drive from Münster. This airport has grown in recent years offering flights throughout Europe including to London (Stansted), Berlin and Amsterdam. By car travelers can reach Münster by the Autobahn 1 from north and south and Autobahn 43 from south east.
Get around
Münster has a huge number of bikes which creates a really special atmosphere. There are about 50,000 students in Münster so by bike and on foot are the key modes of transport. All sidewalks have a red-brick section reserved for cyclists. The complete city has a pedestrian/cycle path around it. The Promenade follows the route of the long-gone medieval walls. It makes for a very nice walk around the city and takes you past the lovely Aasee (a large artificial lake surrounded by a park). There is also a good city bus system. You can get tickets from the bus driver."
